Then nothing about the backup changes. The battery sits on your main panel and carries the house when the grid drops, exactly as it would on a house with panels. Solar was never the thing keeping your lights on during an outage — a grid-tied array shuts down the moment the grid does.
That is a complete answer and we will not spend the call working on it. Roof age, shade, an HOA, a landlord, or simply not wanting panels on the house — none of it disqualifies you, and none of it changes the price. We are not going to sell you an array on the way to selling you a battery.
The Duracell Max Hybrid is a hybrid inverter, so an array can be added to it afterwards without replacing the battery. Nothing about starting battery-only closes that door. If panels are already in your plan for next year, say so on the call and we will size with that in mind.
Scope, before duration
Battery-only customers often assume they are getting the reduced version — a few circuits, the cheap tier. They are not. Scope is settled before anything else on the call, and it is the same answer for every house: the battery backs the whole main panel. What varies is how long 60 kWh carries your particular house, which is arithmetic, not a package.

This surprises nearly everyone with an array: a standard grid-tied system disconnects the instant the grid drops. It is a safety requirement, so the system cannot backfeed a line a crew is working on. Without storage, a sunny afternoon outage leaves a solar house as dark as its neighbours. The battery is the part that keeps a house running — with or without a roof full of panels.

Imperium Adventures is the local crew who sizes it, installs it, and answers the phone afterwards. We tell you this up front because you are entering a term agreement with a company whose name is not on our van, and you should know that before the call, not during it.
Yes. Battery only is a normal path here, not an exception we make — and for most people without panels the outage is the reason rather than the bill. When the grid drops, the battery carries your whole main panel, the way a generator would without the fuel, the noise or the service visits. Duration is the variable, not scope: it runs until the stored energy is gone, which is what we size on the call. The bill changes too. Without panels nothing exports, so there is no buyback line: your power comes at $0.129 a kWh all-in — energy and delivery in one number — and the Solrite agreement is $20 a month on its own invoice. One thing to be clear about, because it is the usual misunderstanding: the battery does not reduce the kWh you buy. Every kWh still goes through the meter, just at a different rate. The calculator has a battery-only mode if you want your own numbers before the call.
Then this particular offer does not fit your address, and we will say so plainly. Cooperative members cannot shop retail electricity providers, so the plan economics we talk about simply do not exist for you. Battery hardware still works at your house — call us and we will tell you honestly what that looks like without the retail-plan part.
Yes. The Duracell system backs the main service panel entirely — the whole house, not a critical-loads subpanel. There is no list of circuits to choose between and nothing gets left off. What is finite is time, not scope: a battery holds a set amount of energy, so the real question on the call is how long it carries your house, and that depends on what you are running while the grid is down.
