Questions
Answered here so you do not have to ask on the phone.
If something you need is missing, call and ask — and we will add it to this page.
Your solar
Because your panels and your house run on different schedules. The roof makes the most at midday, when the house is using the least, and that surplus goes out to the meter for whatever your plan pays for exports. Then everyone comes home, the sun goes down, and you buy those hours back at the retail rate. You are paying for the same day twice. Storage is what keeps the midday surplus on your side of the meter until you need it.
Almost certainly not, and this surprises nearly everyone. A standard grid-tied array disconnects the moment the grid drops — that is a safety requirement, so the system cannot backfeed a line a crew is working on. Without a battery, a sunny afternoon outage leaves you as dark as your neighbours. With one, the panels can keep working into the battery.
Solrite is the finance company behind the programme: they own the battery and lease it to you. Imperium Adventures is the local crew who sizes it, installs it, and answers the phone afterwards. We tell you this up front because you are entering a term agreement with a company whose name is not on our van, and you should know that before the call, not during it.
It is a separate agreement from whatever you already have on the panels. If your panels are leased or on a PPA, tell us who holds that agreement on the call — the interaction between the two matters, and we would rather work it out with you on the phone than discover it at install.
Qualifying
Because Texas retail choice only exists in part of the state, and Greater Houston is a patchwork. The bill tells us in one look whether your address is on CenterPoint (retail choice), a cooperative, or Entergy Texas. If you are a co-op member we tell you immediately instead of driving out and finding a way to sell you something anyway.
Then this particular offer does not fit your address, and we will say so plainly. Cooperative members cannot shop retail electricity providers, so the plan economics we talk about simply do not exist for you. Battery hardware still works at your house — call us and we will tell you honestly what that looks like without the retail-plan part.
It means part of that ZIP is served by CenterPoint and part by a co-op or Entergy. Utility territory does not follow ZIP boundaries — it follows poles and wires. Two houses on the same road can be in different markets. Your bill settles it in about five seconds.
Booking
Thirty minutes. We read the bill you uploaded with you, work out what your panels leave uncovered after dark, and tell you whether storage closes enough of that gap to be worth doing. If it does, we book the site visit from there — no one drives out before that call has happened.
Yes. The slot picker checks both calendars we run on before it offers you a single 30-minute window, so nothing is double-booked behind the scenes. Everything is shown in Central time (America/Chicago).
Call or text (346) 819-3817 and we will move it. No forms, no penalty, no retention script.
Equipment
Duracell home energy storage, owned by Solrite and leased to you. It backs the main service panel — the whole house — so there is no circuit selection to negotiate. We show you the usable capacity figure honestly, because that is what sets how long the house runs.
Yes. The Duracell system backs the main service panel entirely — the whole house, not a critical-loads subpanel. There is no list of circuits to choose between and nothing gets left off. What is finite is time, not scope: a battery holds a set amount of energy, so the real question on the call is how long it carries your house, and that depends on what you are running while the grid is down.
Both cover the whole house here, so the difference is duration and upkeep. A standby generator runs as long as the gas keeps flowing, which wins if your worst case is several days without power. A battery holds a finite amount of energy — but it is already on when the grid drops, with no fuel, no engine, no noise and no service schedule, and it works for you on ordinary days too. Most of the houses we talk to are the second case.
Install
Yes. Permitted, inspected, and to code, with the paperwork handed to you rather than filed somewhere you never see it.
The person who reads your bill on the call is the person who plans the install. We do not hand your job to a subcontractor you have never met.
Money
We will not print a number here, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does before seeing your bill. What it saves depends on your usage shape, your retail plan, what your plan pays for exports, and how much of your evening the battery can cover. That is the arithmetic we do with you on the call, using your bill rather than a generic example.
It depends on your usage, your retail plan and the size of system that actually fits, which is why we will not print a number here that we would have to walk back on the call. You get the lease terms and the install scope in writing, with the exclusions listed, before anyone touches a wire.
No. The call, the bill review and the written terms cost you nothing. If the answer is that storage is wrong for your house, that is a fine outcome and you owe us nothing.
Still deciding
The fastest way to a real answer is 30 minutes on the phone.
No charge, no obligation, terms in writing afterwards. Or call (346) 819-3817 and ask us anything on this page directly.
