Battery backup

It backs the whole house. The question is for how long.

There is no must-run circuit list to argue over. A Duracell system sits behind your main service panel and carries the whole thing, so the only real variable is time — and time is what the arithmetic on this page is about.

Scope and duration

Scope

Settled — the whole panel

The system backs your main service panel, not a critical-loads subpanel. No one asks you to nominate circuits, nothing gets left off, and there is no moment during an outage where you find out the wrong outlet was chosen.

kWh

The variable — how long

Kilowatt-hours of stored energy set how long the house runs before the battery is empty. Read the usable figure, not the nameplate — you never get 100% of it, and the difference is the first thing an honest spec sheet tells you.

Kitchen-table arithmetic

What your house actually draws.

This is not a list to choose from — everything here is covered. It is how you reason about duration. A house idling on the fridge, the internet and some lights lasts a long time. The same house running central A/C through an August afternoon empties the same battery in hours. Same scope, very different clock.

Typical household load draws
LoadRough drawNotes
Refrigerator100–200 WAverage, running
Chest freezer50–100 WAverage, running
Internet + router20–40 WContinuous
LED lighting, a few rooms60–150 WContinuous
Well pump700–1,500 WWhile running; more at startup
Mini-split, one room500–1,200 WVaries with outdoor temp
Central A/C2,500–5,000 WMuch more at compressor start

Ranges, not promises. Your appliances are your appliances — we read your actual usage off the bill and the panel rather than working from a table.

Battery or generator

We will tell you when it is a generator.

Both back the whole house. The split is duration and upkeep: if your worst case is four days of uninterrupted power, a generator is the honest answer and we would rather say so than sell you a system that disappoints in year one.

What we install

Duracell home energy storage.

It backs your whole main panel — that part is not a decision you have to make. What we size is duration, against your real usage, and we show you the usable capacity figure before you decide anything.

  • Permitted, inspected, and to code.
  • Whole main panel backed. No circuit list, no exclusions.
  • Warranty terms explained in plain language before signing.
  • The person who reads your usage plans the install.
